When Willie's negligent employee misplaces a check for Gladys Spencer and generally goofs off and doesn't do his job, Willie is forced to fire him
When the Tanner family is trying to decide on where to take their vacation, Willie has his mind set on going to San Diego, California because he feels it has something for everyone. However, the Tanners change their vacation to a camping trip, so they can go somewhere where ALF will not be seen by other people (Episode: On the Road Again).
Later on, Willie gets a promotion at work and is relocated to the Social Services Department in San Diego. When Willie gets bogged down in the administrative duties of the new position, such as trying to assign parking spaces and having to fire a negligent employee, he decides that he would be happier returning to his old job in Los Angeles (Episode: Moving Out).
